This is official youtube channel for eastcoastarmory.com. East coast armory specializes in 1/6th scale armor modeling detail components and super detailed large scale military models. The videos that you will see on this channel will be about large scale 1/6th scale military vehicle model fabrication, detailing, tutorials, and gallery showcase videos.
In addition to large scale armor modeling subjects you will also find videos of smaller scale projects, many of which are commission builds and walk around videos of real military vehicles.
In every video I describe the work that went into the model as well as the production, and combat History of each vehicle. There are over 650 videos to enjoy, with more on the way! Each week I post a new video so there is always something new to enjoy.

Aurora Park Episode #5, 1/48th scale vintage Aurora M46 Patton tank kit
Welcome! Aurora Park is a mini series on the ECA channel where I review and build the old Aurora 1/48th scale plastic tank kits, and / or compare them to the newly rereleased ex aurora tank kits from Atlantis models.
In this episode the model that is getting the spotlight is the an original mid 1970's vintage Aurora M46 Patton medium tank kit. This kit was released by Aurora back in the mid 1950's but was still in production up until the late 1970's. In this episode I rebuild one of these models, give the model a in box review, and go over the kits various features and the ways it was improved to the condition you see in the video.

The 66th MP co. stationed in Phu Tai VN. was the MP company that had the Marvel comic characters on our V-100's. The 560the did not. We had 16 V's and all but one had Marvel artwork. The only one that did not was The Lemon. I have no clue why the 560th get this attributed to them. The 66th was even mentioned in one of Marvel's comic books. We escorted the convoys from the staging area called the Ponderosa at QL1 and QL19 and took them up the An Khe pass then turned them over to the 560th about 2 miles past the top of the pass. Of course we shot up the " Welcome to the 560th AO" sign there every chance we got, lol. So please keep it historically correct. Marvel artwork was 66th MP company ! Also it was mentioned that these vehicles swim. Technically that is true, however we removed the plugs so that during the monsoon season, when highways 1 and 19 were flooded in places, our V's would stay on the road and not float off into the rice paddies. Thank you for a great video! P.S. Go to the 66th MP Co. Vietnam Facebook page. All my photos of our V's with the Marvel artwork are there, and more. P.P.S. I do have a picture of a 560th V-100, X-52 called God of Hell Fire, if any of you 560th guys would like to have a copy, contact me.
Nice build on a classic Tamiya kit from the 1970s!! As a retired US Army Tanker, the only time you have rust on the tracks of tanks, M48, M60 and M1 tanks when they’re sitting in the motor pool for weeks without being moved. In the field, the end connectors and other steel parts of the track are more of a satin, not gloss, gun metal gray.
Jeep, chấp mọi địa hình, tuyệt vời.
What would you say would be the best 1/35 scale T34/76 kit currently? Looking at the AFV full interior kit but not sure…
hard to say off hand since I haven't built too many T34s but I would guess the AFV club is a solid choice as are the ones from Dragon
@@oddball759mm thank you for your response! You have the best content for us in this hobby space!
Appreciate it 🙂
Another amazing build!
Those Aurora WWI aircraft kits were awesome, and also had great box art. Great company.
так вот с кого скопировали брдм2....
HobbyBoss are Trumpeters prenium brand, so it all makekes sence in the end. China in a nutshell i guess🧐🙄🙄
Not only an RC model but a work of art. The best 'grey' colour-scheme finish on a Tiger 1 I have ever seen. If I ever buy the Tamiya 1/16th Full Option kit, this is the paint job I would attempt to replicate.
Excellent video.
What's the difference between the Sabre and the Scimitar? Why did they bother making the Sabre if the Scimitar can do the exact thing already?
I interviewed the owner of this vehicle and he goes into the info you re looking for, ua-cam.com/video/7O6HMG4P7LI/v-deo.html
Jeep, chiếc xe quá tuyệt vời.
Thee man, thee myth thee legend...lol
I just bought two of these kits today at Ollies $7.99 Yes! Victory is assured!
I remember building one the monogram pz iv variants back in the 70s, it had motorization features in the hull.
Be nice to have the replica device used on rear sprocket to keep track from getting off track I think it reminds me of the rock crawler bead lock system I have searched them but not found any worthy of install. Maybe? Cool video looking forward to our purchase arrival!
It’s on my to do list ;)
The reason for the protection device over the rear right brake light. Is because the drivers reversing camera is situated in the brake housing. Is it possible to purchase just all the magnets for the Abrams?? Great channel fantastic parts, l have already purchased a few items. All very accurate. Thanks Aussie Skot.
Yes After I posted this video someone reached out with this info and gave me an excellent pic of the camera lens. Perhaps I will design the part and add it to the catalog too. On the magnets the ones I use are found on amazon, but if you want a number no problem let me know via my email info@eastcoastarmory.com and I can get a total w/ shipping.
Drove one of these in '72 as a SP5 in the 126th Transportation Company (MED-TRK), at Ft Bragg. Good truck. A lot better truck than the M52A2's we had in Long Bihn. Loved that Cummins engine.
Great Examples Adorable more Combat Centric Box Beautiful Vibe Good Work
Very nice. A skilled builder can maker a simple kit like this more accurate than a perfect kit built by the average builder, love the paint, too many kits have too much weathering imo. kudos.
You are a great craftsman, John! It's always a pleasure to watch you create stuff 🙂
Very nice build, John! I just finished mine, and I wonder if it's just the lighting, or something else - we both used XF63, but yours looks much more lighter than mine. Did you "dust" it with lets say Deck Tan or something? As a side note, I have to correct something: "Ausf." is the German abbreviation (only in writing, never in speech) of "Ausführung" (version/type/model/pattern), and will always be fully enunciated as such! Like in English "Mk.I" is "Mark One" and not "Em-Kay One". If it's to hard for you to say "Ausführung", just say "Panzer Four Dee". I don't wanna be wise-ass, it simply sounds funny❣
the lighting does change the color somewhat, but I did add a lightening wash for the sun fade effects, I mentioned it in the video it's very thinned flat white
@@oddball759mm Oh, I didn't catch that, my fault! Thanks for clearing that up!
Lovely re-build John! I'm a sucker for the old Tamiya kits and have a stash that unless I win the lottery and therefore retire... I may never build! Can I make a suggestion for a future build? I'd love to see a video of all your builds side by side, would be really cool. Happy modelling John!
If one is after authenticity, this is a horrible kit which is full of oversimplified/non existent details and outright errors. If one is after a quick built without worries about parts fit, it’s alright. The parts engineering is what Tamiya is rightfully famous for. I tried to upgrade the kit once but failed miserably due to an oversight on my end. After that, I sold all my remaining Tamiya kits of a certain age, I think pretty much none of those pre- year 2000 kits survived this ‘purge’. You did a tremendous job on this one. I think a key is to just accept its many shortcomings, and build it for its own right just like you did.
As I mentioned in the video, this is a entry level kit. If you are looking for something more detailed or accurate there are much better options on the market, but this comes at the expense of complexity. If someone is looking for that type of experience they should have the skills required to tackle a build to that caliber. For this one as you stated it's best to just be built as a casual fun or practice build and enjoy it as is.
Nice kit review, I do like the vintage Tamiya armor since many still came with poly caps and easy to motorize.🙂
Nice. It's been decades since I built models.I would like to try a tank like this.
Recently got back into the hobby and man have things changed! This channel has great tips and advice! So pick a kit and get back at it!
agree totally
nice presentation! fromJAPAN
Looks good John but those weldbead shapes look like Dot candy.
How is the gun elevated?
there is a hand crank on the gunner's side. the crank was added after this video was filmed and it can be seen on the videos that came after this one like the one here ua-cam.com/video/biQhSF9yNfY/v-deo.html
@@oddball759mm Thank you, but isn't that hand wheel just for the turret traverse?
@@ElloEllo12314 If I'm not mistaken (it's been a while) but I think you can switch btwn elevation and transverse with the lever on the gearbox. The crew seat on the opposite side had a crank wheel too, but it was for the optic control or something. his job was to mostly keep the guns fed with ammo. I may be mistaken but I think that was how it was done
My father served on this sub I ham holding his zippo with the logo issued my the military
Looks really good, Your metalwork is amazing.
Nicely done. I myself would have pulled the pins from the hinges and made one long one for each set of four, less fiddly work lining each up with the other. Your way worked too so no big deal. 👍

Hey brother I'm back lol I ended up getting that flak gun you sent me but I'm stuck at one of the chapters step 9 actually lol did you ever do a tutorial on the build? I can't find anyone that has
nah I never made a tutorial on the flak, If I can remember those parts of the instructions were about the elevation system, and yeah the instructions are vague at best. It's been a while since I built this one and I don't recall how I was able to get it working
@@oddball759mm it seams to be I was worried if I left it out I'd regret it later in the build looks like a rod hooks to the back t of the gun but all I can do is hope for the best

So I have been told
But you are right about those kit tracks they're horrible
I found a pair of Tasca Sherman tracks and they fit perfect
I would not hesitate to ask to fire that thing! Channel my inner Burt! ❤️ This is the gun Burt Gummer fired at the beginning of Tremors 3.
nice work ,BUT the 1:35 version of this kit seems to have been withdrawn, although 1:48& 1:72 versions are available!.
Yeah I know :( . I asked them and they said it was getting upgraded. I would drop them a line to see when it’s coming back
Great work! I purchased a 3d printer and have been making my own parts… one downside to the parts that I can see is they are very fragile… styrene parts are much more forgiving!
they are, but with resin prints you are able to get crisper details and geometry that at times are not possible with other types of manufacturing methods.
Just redid tamiyas stug H and glad I di ,it was 2nd kit after a 30 yr or so gap in making kits lol...now as back modelling since start of lockdown,my old skills are back now my stug looks the dogs danglies ...lol...also,airbrush makes soooo much difference now ive learnt to use it,was afraid to try once...now wouldnt be without one...cheers from UK btw now nr 150 kits built/in stash...forgot how addictive this hobby is
